Everything you need to know about guitar straps

A guitar strap is more than a piece of equipment. It’s an expression of your personality, so choose wisely, or choose a few to switch out as the mood takes you. From patterned to plain and colourful to classic, we’ve got something for everyone.

Our guitar straps are easily adjusted to the perfect length, and come in a range of widths so you can choose which is most comfortable for you. Woven straps sit alongside leather designs that are durable and will age handsomely, becoming a reminder of the stages they’ve seen and gigs you’ve played. You’ll find options with the iconic manufacturer’s logo scrawled across them, such as this one from Cole Clark’s which is made in Australia from leather and velvety suede, or Maton’s Australian-made option. There are designs with a difference too, such as this denim strap from Ernie Ball or the world’s number one polypro guitar strap in a kaleidoscopic pattern.

Is there a difference between acoustic and electric guitar straps?

Whether you’re plugging in or playing a steel or nylon string instrument, you’ll find that acoustic guitar straps and electric guitar straps are interchangeable. If you’re practicing with a band, or preparing for performances, it’s a good idea to rehearse standing up and that will require a strap.

Many of our straps are from Ernie Ball, which is the American creator of premium guitar accessories, including strings and cables. We’re proud to say that some of our favourite guitar straps are made right here in Australia. We’ve included straps styled with Yumari Dreaming Aboriginal Art, such as this option from Colonial Leather, which is also the maker of great leather guitar straps. You can use these for bass guitars too, and for ukuleles, we have other options that have been specially made.

Our selection of guitar straps are from the best manufacturers of equipment, and we feel greatness perhaps comes from osmosis. When you choose a strap from one of these brands, you’ll be slinging your axe just like the greats. We’ve included:

    • Cole Clark
    • Colonial Leather
    • Ernie Ball
    • Fender
    • Martin Maton./li>

Guitar straps are an essential accessory, and we’ve got everything else you’ll need in stock too. Stock up on strings, capos, picks, cables and more. Tuck a spare strap into your gig bag too, so you’ll never be caught short.
